Ebro and Peter Rosenberg Say Drake Was 'Rubbing Up On' Podcasters 'Openly Campaigning for Trump'

Ebro doubled down on his claim that Drake and Akademiks are "right-wing" amid their feud.

Following the eruption of their feud, radio host and podcaster Ebro Darden has doubled down on his accusation that Drake and his No. 1 loyalist, DJ Akademiks, are “right-wing.”

In the debut episode of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Ebro spoke about his tweet accusing both Drizzy and Akademiks of being right-wing. “Drake leaves a comment under a post about Ebro’s morning show getting cancelled, and he threw up an axe,” he said at the 16:50 mark of the video above. “Because, you know, I got ‘axed.’ And I said that’s because Drake is right-wing and so is Sack. I called him Sack. I didn’t think that was controversial! Sackademiks, sack of shit, openly campaigned for Trump.”

Peter Rosenberg added that Akademiks visited Donald Trump at Mar-A-Lago and rubbed shoulders with conservative figures on podcasts and the controversial streaming platform Rumble. “And Drake was on podcasts with people and supporting podcasts [with] people who was openly campaigning for Trump,” added Ebro, likely referring to noted Trump fan Adin Ross, among others. “Oh yeah,” Rosenberg agreed. “Gifting them rolexes and rubbing up on [them].”

Ebro noted that he got a community note on his tweet accusing Drake of being right-wing, which noted that the Canadian superstar has never firmly aligned himself with one side of the political aisle. The note also suggested that Drake has notably supported “left-wing causes,” like when he wrote an open letter about the police killing of 37-year-old Black man Alton Sterling in 2016, or when he called Trump a “fucking idiot” during a 2018 concert.

“I think you’re oversimplifying it if you say Drake’s right-wing,” Rosenberg pushed back. “Like, I get why you did it, and I do go, ‘Hrmm.’ But yeah, like, he was on the artists for ceasefire list, he does things that are not in line with right-wing… and he definitely didn’t used to be.” Ebro countered by saying that former far-right Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is also on a list calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, but she’s definitely right-wing. “Very good point,” Rosenberg admitted.

Following the news that Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning was cancelled, Drake dropped a sassy axe emoji in the comments of a post reporting on the news. Rosenberg accused Drake of “celebrating” what he believed was the “demise” of Ebro, Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez. Ebro later revealed that he received wild DMs from Drake amid the drama. “Die slower pussy,” Drake wrote in one DM. “We got some shit for u.”

Later in the podcast, Rosenberg suggested that it was “Trumpy” of Drake and his team to accuse Kendrick Lamar of buying streams for his No. 1 diss track, “Not Like Us.”

“Because Drake’s right-wing,” said Ebro around the 42-minute point. “He’s never publicly said his political stance. … I’ll never forget him using his white mother to tell him to not use the n-word on a beef record, and the first word out of his mouth was the n-word, as if it was something that you could just play with. … It’s really about, like, yo, the n-word is not universally accepted by Black folks. It’s a bad word, it’s a slur. There are many Black families that are not using the n-word in your house, in front of elders, in front of your parents. … I don’t even know if I’ve used the n-word in front of my daughter, bro. … But then the slavery line? I was like, ‘Ah, nah. This ain’t gonna go well for you, my guy.’”
