Cardi B is currently on tour in support of her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, but she’s already thinking about what’s next.
During a recent Instagram Live, Cardi spoke directly with fans and shared that she’s already planning her next tour and album. “When I put out another album, and I go and I tour well… Live Nation, they're gonna have to cough up more money,” she said. “Because y'all be talking about, ‘Oh, rehearsals, you start for five months and this and that.’ Rehearsals are not free. Sean Bankhead got to get paid every single day of rehearsal. And the dancers got to get paid every single day. But that's why they're going to have to cover all the money on my next tour with my next album. I'm going to perform for five months, bro.”
After suggesting that she’s going to need more money for her next tour, planning something more extravagant than the current tour, she said that she’s already excited to release the follow-up to Am I the Drama?
“I cannot wait to put out the next album,” she said. “I'm already putting things in my head for the new production. I'm going to go fucking crazy. Like, I really love this shit. … I really, really, really can't wait. I'm tired. Some days I be happy. Some days I'll be, like, annoyed ‘cause I want to go home. But I'm really, really tired. I'm so happy to be home, though.”
She also shared a video on her Instagram Stories earlier this month showing that she’s already recording new material on the road thanks to the studio installed in her touring bus. “We recorded today, I got so much energy,” she teased.
The rapper recently played a pair of shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden for a return to her hometown before the tour’s final leg in the United States next month. She’s scheduled to perform at Newark’s Prudential Center on Saturday (March 28), followed by shows in Canada and a string of performances in various states, concluding with two shows at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
