After Cam’ron recently accused Jim Jones of being behind on rent for the studio where he records the Let’s Rap About It podcast, 50 Cent made fun of the podcast after acquiring alleged video of the hosts seemingly contending with a power outage.
In a video soundtracked by Teddy Pendergrass’ “Turn off the Lights,” the IFC-produced podcast appeared to be having technical difficulties as people walked around with flashlights. At the end of the video, someone can briefly be heard talking about getting an electrician out.
“LOL,” Fif wrote alongside the clip. “[Cam’ron] turned the lights off, them bum ass [ninja emoji] in there with flash flights.”
In a subsequent post, he shared a video showing cartoon eyes struggling to see in the darkness.
“They in there like all we got is us,” he joked. “LOL WE ALL WE GOT!”
In a final video shared to Instagram, 50 Cent participated in a brief comedy sketch making fun of the Let’s Rap About It podcast and its alleged issues. In the video, he’s doing a commercial for Branson Cognac, when all the lights go off.
“What the fuck?” says Fif. “What happened with the lights, man?”
Earlier this month, Dipset rappers Cam’ron and Jim Jones got into it after the former made a joke about the latter’s alleged financial woes. “How u worried about me when ya heat off and rent due,” Cam joked, which prompted a wave of responses from Jones, who accused Cam of being “soft” and “freaky.”
“What’s wrong capo?” Cam responded in one comment. “Ya heat off too? I ain’t know… Is hate for you to be 50yrs old wit no heat. What’s ya Zelle bro? I got u.”
50 Cent later chimed in on the back-and-forth, and seemingly sided with Cam.
“Damn I hope you can all chip in, and get the heat back on,” Fif wrote alongside a screenshot of Cam’s post.
Rumors have persisted (thanks in large part to Fif) that Jones owes money to the landlord of the building where he films Let’s Rap About It, which he co-hosts with Maino, Dave East, and Fabolous.
As for Fif’s latest mockery, Jones is clearly taking it in stride, as evidenced by the filmed-in-the-dark video below.
