Nicki Minaj Freezes After Calling J.D. Vance an ‘Assassin’ in Front of Erika Kirk

Her remark came during a Q&A with Charlie Kirk's widow, three months after his fatal shooting.

Nicki Minaj experienced a blunder during her Q&A with Erika Kirk.

The rapper made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest event on Sunday (Dec. 21), where she sat down for a Q&A session with Charlie Kirk’s widow.

When asked what advice she would give to young men, Minaj said, “Don't be Newscum,” in reference to her ongoing feud with California governor Gavin Newsom.

She continued, “You have amazing role models. Like our handsome, dashing president. And you have amazing role models like the assassin, J.D. Vance, our vice president" — a term of admiration she has used before to describe the VP, a frequent user of viral memes on social media.

Minaj then paused abruptly at the realization of her “assassin” comment, which came more than three months after Charlie Kirk was shot and killed by a gunman on September 10. The rapper stayed silent for a long moment, and appeared to get tearful.

“Trust me, there's nothing new under the sun that I have not heard, so you're fine,” Erika responded. “You have to laugh about it. Truly, I have been called every single thing, and you know what? God is so good. You let it roll right off your back. And this is what's so beautiful about this moment, because if the internet wants to clip it, who cares?

“I love this woman. She's an amazing woman. She has a soul and a heart for the Lord. Words are words, but I know her heart, and it doesn't even matter. And you say what you want to say, because I know your heart and I do not judge that.”
