D.L. Hughley has some choice words for Nicki Minaj after her recent tweets about transgender children.

In a post shared to his Threads account on Sunday (Dec. 14), the 62-year-old actor and comedian targeted the Pink Friday 2 rapper after her recent tweets targeting California governor Gavin Newsom and his support for trans kids.

“Nicki Minaj shouldnt post anything about kids cuz her husband can't be within 1000 ft of one!” he wrote. “It ain't Gavin [Newsom] it's Chris [Hansen] she should be worried about,” he wrote in reference to the host of the infamous To Catch a Predator series on Dateline NBC.

In a separate video shared to his TikTok and Instagram, Hughley doubled down on his comments by also pointing to Minaj’s recent embrace of President Donald Trump.

“She supports a dude that is on the Epstein list 1,000 times,” he said, in reference to President Trump and his alleged appearances on the unreleased documents pertaining to convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“She's actually married to a registered sex offender, a pedophile,” he added. “She shouldn't be able to watch Jason Kidd or listen to Kid 'n Play, New Kids on the Block. Hell, she gotta walk around the aisle with Cabbage Patch Kids on it, and she damn sure should stay away from Sour Patch Kids.”

Minaj’s husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, is a registered sex offender after he was convicted of first-degree rape in 1995 in New York. Petty served four years in prison following the conviction. In 2022, he was sentenced to one year of in-home confinement and three years of probation for failing to register as a sex offender in California.

While it’s unclear what Minaj’s issues with Governor Newsom stem from, some users believe that the “Do We Have A Problem?” rapper hinted at their issues last month when she blamed a number of swatting incidents at her California residence to “political corruption” that went “consistently ignored by public figures who were supposed to be helping.”

Those issues seem to have boiled over last week after Newsome explained his position about transgender children to The New York Times.

“I want to see trans kids. I have a trans godson,” he told The Times’ Ezra Klein on Wednesday (Dec. 10). “There’s no governor who has signed more pro-trans legislation than I have. No one has been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ community.”

Minaj caught wind of his comments days later and responded to her X account writing, “Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids.

“Not Gav, The Gav Nots, GavOUT. Send in the next guy, I’m bored,” she concluded.

While Newsom didn’t offer a direct response to Minaj’s posts, he caught more heat from the rapper after he posted a video to social media highlighting photos of Trump and Epstein after they were released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.

The soundtrack to the clip was Megan Thee Stallion’s 2024 single “Hiss,” featuring the verse some believe takes a shot at Minaj: "These hoes don't be mad at Megan/ These hoes mad at Megan's Law/ I don't really know what the problem is/ But I guarantee, y'all don't want me to start/ Bitch, you a pussy, never finna check me every chance you get/ Bet yo weak ass won't address me."

“Let’s wait…I think Gavvy’s still transitioning,” Minaj also tweeted.
