Lizzo Addresses Nicki Minaj Dissing Her After the Grammys: ‘Just Have To Keep It Pushing'

Last December, Lizzo said she wasn't surprised by Minaj's embrace of MAGA. Months later, Minaj mocked Lizzo's body, album sales, and ongoing lawsuit.

Lizzo reacted to a question about Nicki Minaj months after the rapper dissed her online.

During a recent TikTok Live, the “Truth Hurts” singer responded to a fan who asked where she stands with Minaj after the Pink Friday 2 rapper made harsh comments about her earlier this year.

"Somebody asked me if I still fuck with Nicki Minaj. I think that other people's opinions of me are not my business,” Lizzo said. “I don't really know what exactly was said about me, but I do know that there were some things said about me from her on the internet. I am choosing not to know about that—l don't want to know, you know what I mean?

“At the end of the day … it's not going to make a difference to my everyday life, you know, whether someone likes me or not or whether they say something mean about me or not. I just have to keep it pushing."

She added, "I hope that's a sufficient answer. A lot of people talk shit about me on the internet. A lot of people—people I actually know, people I actually have a personal relationship [with] have talked shit about me on the internet like I'm just a random celebrity to them. It's bizarre. I'm like, 'Ho, is you cool?' Like, I actually know you. Why are you talking about me to go viral? It's weird."

Lizzo clarified that she was not referring to Minaj in those comments by iterating that she doesn’t “know Nicki Minaj personally” and doesn’t “have a personal relationship” with the rapper.

“Please do not clip this and make this into something it's not," Lizzo asked the chat. “I am trying to fucking have a peaceful life.”

Lizzo concluded, “I'm not MAGA. That's one thing you ain't ever gonna see me switch up on.”

During a TikTok livestream In December 2025, Lizzo said “isn’t surprised” by Minaj’s political turn after her endorsement of President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.

"You're about to see an influx of people who see that it is more profitable and more beneficial to join that side," Lizzo said at the time. "You're going to see it. It already started, and it's going to continue."

She added, "This is Trump's first year as president. We got three more years of people who are going to surprise you, and it's going to hurt your feelings. It's gonna disappoint you." Lizzo also said, "There's money behind everything. There are privileges behind every move that people in these positions make. And I'm not surprised."

In February, immediately following the 2026 Grammys, Minaj took shots at Lizzo on X, writing, “Fat Lizzo lost 300 Ibs just to sell 300 albums. So now she has loose skin AND a flop album, AND a weird charge. Sheesh.”

The "weird charge" comment appeared to reference the civil lawsuit filed by three of Lizzo's former dancers, who accused her of fat-shaming and sexual harassment.

The fat-shaming claims were dismissed in December, while the harassment allegations remain ongoing. Lizzo has not faced criminal charges.

Lizzo’s fifth studio album, Bitch, is set to be released on June 5.
