Lizzo plans to reveal her truth on her forthcoming fifth album, Bitch.
The 4-time Grammy winner was a guest on the Monday (May 4) episode of CBS Mornings and spoke to anchor Gayle King about being sued by three of her former backup dancers in 2023. Dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez claimed that they were victims of sexual harassment, fat-shaming and a hostile work environment.
Last December, the claim that the women were chastised about their weight was dismissed after an unauthorized recording of Lizzo during a dancer meeting was sent to Williams after the dancer was no longer working in The Big Grrrls.
On CBS Mornings, Lizzo maintained that the allegations involving her are “not true.” The musician also declared that she would not settle with the woman.
“And I think most people would. I think it is an easy out, but I'm fighting the case because I know that it's not true,” she said. “Just like the fat shaming one is not true. It's an ongoing case so I can't talk about all the details but I cannot wait for it to be dismissed. I'm looking forward to it.
Lizzo plans to take the witness stand and provide testimony if the case goes to trial and joked that she will “look fabulous while doing it.” “The truth will come out, and that’s why I’m not afraid of it,” said the “Truth Hurts” artist. “I'm not afraid of the truth. The truth is less salacious than the headlines.”
Although steering clear of going into specifics that could alter the case, Lizzo has denied the allegations numerous times, one being in a Substack post last December.
"Who's gonna write the op-ed on the harm false allegations cause?” she proclaimed. “I'm not talking about the harm caused to the person falsely accused. I'm talking about the harm caused to the people watching it play out publicly who have experienced true traumatic crimes."
