Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda Names Doechii Among His Favorite Female Rappers

The singer was asked to come up with a list of his dream hip-hop collaborators.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda named Doechii as one of the female hip-hop artists he’d love to collaborate with.

In an episode of Drink Champs, Shinoda was asked for a list of hip-hop artists he’d love to collaborate with.

Near the 1:20 mark, the 48-year-old said the Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang Clan, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, and André 3000 were his top five.

When asked to add a female artist to the list, Mike said, “I’d put Lauryn [Hill] near the top. I love Rah Digga.”

He also recalled listening to Queen Latifah for the first time as a kid, saying, “She’s so confident and she’s not like selling sex… she felt like a role model.”

Then, out of nowhere, Shinoda said, “Oh, Doechii. Why didn’t I say Doechii? … I should’ve said Doechii earlier.”

Drink Champs co-host DJ EFN chimed in, “She’s Andre meets Tyler the Creator, but better as a female.”

N.O.R.E. replied, “I like that analogy. I agree with you.”

While scrolling through his phone to jog his memory of other female rappers, Mike also mentioned, “Doja [Cat]’s dope.”

Despite the interview originally being uploaded last month, the clip where Shinoda lights up at the mention of Doechii has recently been making the rounds on X.

Linkin Park’s most-widely known collaboration with a hip-hop artist is their 2004 Collision Course EP with Jay-Z, which included their hit mashup “Numb / Encore.”

The iconic rock band also collaborated with Rakim for their 2014 single “Guilty All the Same” as well as Pusha T and Stormzy for 2017’s “Good Goodbye.”
