Drake's fans could be waiting months before physical copies of Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti hit shelves—if they will at all.
All three projects arrived on streaming services immediately on Friday (May 15), but no physical editions were made available through Drake's official store or retailers at launch.
Will Drake Release Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti on Vinyl?
Right now, there is no official confirmation that Drake plans to release any of his three new albums on vinyl, CD, or cassette. The situation is difficult to predict because Drake has skipped vinyl releases for some past projects entirely.
There’s no question that physical media has become increasingly popular again in recent years, but production timelines remain one of the biggest obstacles.
Chartlex estimates that some vinyl pressings can take anywhere from six to nine months to manufacture over capacity issues, while Disc Makers CEO Tony van Veen says lead times can range up to eight weeks depending on packaging, variants, and production complexity.
Major artists like Drake often face two choices when preparing albums for release. They can either release the music digitally as soon as the mixes and mastering are complete and delay physical editions until later, or they can finish albums months in advance so vinyl copies are ready on release day.
How long could Drake vinyl releases take?
Drake has a pattern of vinyl releases lagging behind digital drops.
Per data from Discogs, his 2010 debut album Thank Me Later did not receive a vinyl pressing until May 2023. Nothing Was the Same, originally released digitally in September 2013, followed an even longer gap before its official vinyl issue in May 2023—nearly nine years later.
Views arrived digitally in April 2016 and reached vinyl about six months afterward, while Scorpion (June 2018) saw its vinyl release roughly four months post-digital launch.
With 2021's Certified Lover Boy, an extremely limited vinyl pressing briefly appeared via Drake's webstore. In contrast, 2022's Honestly, Nevermind and 2023's For All the Dogs never received physical editions despite fan demand.
More recently, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, Drake's collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, was released digitally on Feb. 14, 2025, with physical copies arriving about 12 weeks later.
Other major artists have also dealt with delayed vinyl rollouts
Kendrick Lamar released his album GNX digitally on Nov. 24, 2024, but the vinyl edition did not arrive until Feb. 28, 2025. Justin Bieber followed a similar strategy with SWAG, which hit streaming services on July 11, 2025, before receiving a vinyl release on Nov. 14, 2025.
The first vinyl and CD pressing of Beyoncé's 2024 Cowboy Carter album also differed from the simultaneously-released digital album. A later "complete edition" vinyl release eventually included updated mixes and songs that had initially been missing.
During an April interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, singer RAYE apologized to fans for the vinyl version of her album This Music May Contain Hope. At the time, she explained that the mixes on the vinyl are different from the digital release, as it was pressed on vinyl before the final mix could be completed.
Could Drake skip physical releases entirely for Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti?
For now, there’s no clear answer about whether Drake’s new albums will eventually be pressed on vinyl and CD or when they could arrive, if at all.
Regardless of what happens next, all three projects are already dominating streaming platforms worldwide and are expected to post massive first week numbers.
