Drake's fans are reflecting on those who passed away before ever getting to hear Iceman.
Earlier this week on the r/Drizzy subreddit, a thread called “When you realize there are Drake Fans that passed away waiting for ICEMAN” was created. The creator of the thread included a photo of a seemingly emotional Drake looking upwards while in a concert setting.
The thread led to a discussion about loss, anticipation, and finding meaning in small things while waiting for Drake’s highly-anticipated new album, while thinking of those who may have passed away while waiting for the album to drop.
"Aubrey's angels [crying emoji] literally" wrote one user.
"I cried, man," wrote another.
"Idk if this is a serious post like that but honestly stuff like this makes things like suicide so much more sad. There's always something to look forward to, no matter how small," wrote another, to which the OP replied, "Something small to someone can be the biggest thing someone is looking forward to."
"When Iceman drops, let's replay a track for them," chimed in yet another user.
"Well let's get the Boy to #1 when he drops for them!!! [ice emoji] [owl emoji]" added another user.
Drake’s long-awaited ninth studio album, Iceman, will finally arrive next Friday (May 15). The release date was discovered by a fan last month inside of the rapper’s large ice structure installation in Toronto.
Details about the album, such as collaborators and a track listing, remain under wraps for now.
