Halloween might be over, but the horror of a bad ex is forever. And nobody knows this more than Summer Walker.
Now, the “Heart of a Woman” hitmaker is turning that pain into art ahead of her upcoming third studio album Finally Over It, transforming the record into an immersive experience.
On Saturday, November 8 — which will mark six days before Finally Over It drops — Walker is opening a one-day-only escape room in Atlanta, as part of a partnership with YouTube. The Finally Over It Escape Room will contain rooms inspired by all of the albums in Walker’s Over It trilogy: 2019’s Over It, 2021’s Still Over It and the upcoming Finally Over It.
According to a statement announcing the experience, each of the rooms “is filled with red flags you thought you left behind – from the baby daddy, the ex who has a 450 credit score to the 50/50 guy and the one who asks ‘where my hug at?'."
Those who make it through all of the challenges will get to hear new music from Walker and Finally Over It. Walker herself is also expected to make a surprise appearance.
“It’s more than an escape, it’s a night of music, moments, and moving on — made for those who live and breathe the story,” reads the announcement.
Walker also teased the escape room experience on her own social media channels, with a trailer parodying the opening sequence of Scream. The clip sees her answering the phone to Ghostface, before the famed villain enters her home. “Grand rising, queen. Come on, Summer, I’m not looking for anything serious,” he says. He then recalls her bringing an older gentleman to this year’s MTV Video Music Awards back in September.
“Where’s that old geezer you were with at the VMAs? Come on, Summer. I rap, sign me,” he said. The trailer then ends on a horrifying cliffhanger, stirring up suspense ahead of both the escape room and the album.
Fans can register for the experience here and will receive the exact location on Friday, Nov. 7 at noon ET. Additionally, fans can look forward to hearing Finally Over It in full on Friday, Nov. 14.
