Ken Gets Styled by KidSuper in New Barbie Collaboration

The collaboration calls to mind KidSuper's 2021 stop-motion runway show.

Barbie and Colm Dillane, a.k.a. KidSuper, have collaborated on a new take on the Ken doll.

As longtime KidSuper appreciators will note, the Barbie Styled by KidSuper Ken doll takes inspiration from Dillane’s Spring/Summer 2021 show “Everything’s Fake Until It’s Real.” That show, presented in the form of a stop-motion production, marked KidSuper’s Paris Fashion Week debut. As such, Dillane said at the time, KidSuper had to “come in with a bang.”

“I’m beyond excited to bring the KidSuper spirit to the Barbie universe with the very first Ken doll in the Barbie Styled by series,” Dillane said. “Growing up, I was fueled by creativity, imagination, and self-expression—so much so that my friends gave me the nickname ‘KidSuper.’”

Dillane continued, “To now channel that same energy into my own Styled by KidSuper Ken doll is truly surreal. This doll is more than just fashion—it’s a reflection of my belief in dreaming big and expressing yourself boldly. I hope it inspires everyone—whether you're a fashion fan, a Ken enthusiast, or a dreamer—to chase your passions fearlessly and embrace your individuality with playful confidence.”

The Barbie Styled by KidSuper Ken doll finds Ken wearing an army jacket with vintage Ken and Barbie illustrations, striped pants with soaring bird prints, and a hat initialed with "KS." The doll will be available starting May 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET on Mattel Creations for Barbie Club 59 members. The public sale launches May 10, also at 12:00 p.m. ET.
