LeBron James is a lot of things: NBA legend, mogul, A&R rep, talk show host, Gold Medal Drink inventor. As of this morning, thanks to the folks at Mattel, King James can add one more title to his roster: Barbie’s first-ever official Kenbassador.

Speaking on the honor of having Barbie and the LeBron James Family Foundation partner for the release of what marks the first Ken doll of a pro athlete, James tied his latest endeavor to what he sees as the importance of role models for young people.

“As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication,” LeBron said in a press release. “Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James Kenbassadors doll is such an honor. It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models who instill confidence, inspire dreams, and show kids that they, too, can achieve greatness.”

LeBron's doll features a white and blue letterman jacket. His "LJ" initials are printed on the front of the jacket, and "LeBron" is printed on the back of it — along with the phrase "Just a Kid from Akron." On the left sleeve, there’s a blue and black Ohio patch as well as a green and gold crown logo from his foundation.

LeBron's Barbie Signature Kenbassador doll will be available at select Target stores and online at Target, Amazon, Walmart and Mattel Creations for $75 starting Monday, April 14th at 12:00 AM EST.

LeBron was recently filmed holding his signature doll and he looked amazed. "This is so cool," he remarked, while he gazed at the details of the figure.

With LeBron's new doll, he joins athletes like Venus Williams and Australian soccer star Mary Fowler, who have also been depicted by the Mattel brand.
