SZA debuted a stunning yellow gown at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday (May 4), made from fabrics sourced from eBay.
In collaboration with eBay and designer Emily Adams Bode Aujla of BODE, the 36-year-old singer-songwriter chose to highlight sustainable fashion practices with her Met Gala outfit this year. The theme at the event this year was Costume Art, and SZA went the extra mile by sourcing the fabric and accessories exclusively from eBay. Bode Aujla and stylist Briana Andalore drew from SZA’s appreciation for flowers and butterflies for the piece, which is also inspired by 1910s Art Nouveau motifs.
SZA complemented the look with a tribute to her late grandmother, Norma, with custom-made grills featuring her name and her favorite bible verse. To celebrate the extravagant look, which also features a vibrant headpiece, SZA shared a video showing her getting ready for the Met Gala.
“SZA’s look for this year’s Met Gala is both tied to her own whimsical personal narrative and has an art-based historical significance, Bode Aujla told Vogue. The designer added that she used the Met as a resource for researching the piece, researching Viennese fashion from as far back as the 18th century.
As expected, the 2026 Met Gala was filled with stunning looks from some of the biggest names in entertainment and beyond. Wisdom Kaye sported a robot-like Public School suit, Cardi B showed up in a puffy Marc Jacobs gown, and ASAP Rocky made a splash with his pink Chanel number, among other notable fits.
