Takashi Murakami has a new Los Angeles Dodgers collection on the way.
The latest collection comes in the wake of the Dodgers’ World Series victory against the Blue Jays. As you’re surely already aware given the extensive celebrations that broke out among fans in the immediate aftermath, the Dodgers clinched the title with a Game 7 win against the Toronto team, later resulting in a timely shoutout from Canada’s own Drake, who praised the players for giving fans a “dream season” despite the outcome.
Murakami, whose past work includes cover art for the artist formerly known as Kanye West, previously brought his globally recognized artistic sensibility to Major League Baseball with a well-received collection earlier this year.
In March, pieces from the initial Murakami and MLB World Tour Tokyo Series collection quickly sold out. As reported at the time, nearly 100,000 fans downloaded the Fanatics App in the run-up to the highly anticipated drop, leading to pieces from the collection selling out within minutes. Topps trading cards boxed sets, for example, sold in just seven minutes.
