U.S. Soccer and DC are bringing superheroes and soccer together ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the launch of "Justice League: Heroes of the Pitch," a new crossover collection that blends comic books, fashion, and football culture into one massive collaboration.

At the center of the release is a limited-edition comic book written by Dave Wielgosz with cover art from Pop Mahl and interior illustrations by Serg Acuna. The story features 11 members of the U.S. Men's National Team teaming up with iconic Justice League heroes in an intergalactic soccer adventure.

The comic imagines Superman alongside USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino leading a combined squad of superheroes and soccer stars against an alien warlord threatening the match. The project also includes appearances from FOX Sports broadcasters, including Carli Lloyd, Rob Stone, Stu Holden, John Strong, and Jenny Taft.

"Soccer is gaining some monumental traction in the U.S., and I believe U.S. Soccer can be a relevant force in the future," cover artist Pop Mahl said in a statement. "Being able to draw the Men's National Team alongside the majestic Justice League is a watershed moment for me."

Beyond the comic itself, the collaboration also includes an apparel and accessories collection created by lifestyle brands Peace Collective and Sprayground. The capsule features hoodies, jackets, t-shirts, hats, and backpacks, mixing Justice League imagery with U.S. Soccer branding.

According to U.S. Soccer Vice President of Consumer Products Maribeth Towers, the project reflects how soccer fandom in America continues evolving beyond the game itself.

"This collection brings our Men's National Team into culture in a completely new way," Towers said. "As the game continues to grow in the U.S., we're seeing fandom show up beyond the pitch through what people wear and how they express their connection to the team."

The release arrives as soccer culture in the United States reaches new heights ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Fashion, music, entertainment, and sports continue to collide during the tournament buildup, with jerseys and football-inspired streetwear becoming increasingly prominent in mainstream style.

Fans looking to tap into the growing soccer fashion wave can also shop a wide variety of football jerseys and kits through Complex Shop, which currently carries releases from clubs and national teams worldwide.

"Justice League: Heroes of the Pitch" is available now through select DICK'S Sporting Goods locations, online at DICK'S, and through the official U.S. Soccer store, while a Spanish-language version of the comic is expected to arrive soon on DC Universe Infinite.
