21 Savage made a surprise appearance during Arsenal’s halftime show this week, where the Atlanta rapper spoke about his lifelong support for the North London club and his belief that the team can still achieve something special this season.

During the interview, 21 Savage reflected on watching Arsenal grow up and explained that his connection to the club dates back to his childhood in London.

“I was born in London,” he said. “That’s all I know is Arsenal. I’ve always been an Arsenal supporter my whole life.”

The rapper, whose real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, also revealed that his entire family supports the club, adding that Arsenal “means the world” to him.

When asked which former player inspired him most growing up, 21 immediately pointed to legendary striker Thierry Henry.

“He’s one of my goats,” 21 said. “Speed, passing, great striker… he could score from anywhere.”

Throughout the conversation, the rapper repeatedly praised Arsenal’s current squad while emphasizing the importance of defense heading into the final stretch of the season and UEFA Champions League competition.

“I think we got a good chance,” he said. “We got the best defense. We conceded the least amount of goals in Champions League.”

21 Savage also singled out Declan Rice as one of the team’s key players while giving credit to goalkeeper David Raya for his performances this season.

“Everybody plays a major part,” he explained. “But if I had to say one player, I would say Declan Rice for sure. And Raya too.”

21 Savage previously referenced Arsenal on “Major Distribution” from his collaborative album Her Loss with Drake. In the song, 21 famously rapped: “Gunners win the Premier League, call that Arsenal.”

The line became a fan-favorite among Arsenal supporters and frequently resurfaces online whenever the club is in a title race.

During the halftime conversation, 21 Savage also shared a simple strategy for Arsenal’s remaining matches.

“We just got to win these two games,” he said. “I’ll be satisfied with 1-0. Just park the bus.”
