Tiger Woods is now facing formal charges tied to his recent car accident in Florida.
According to TMZ, the golf icon has been charged with driving under the influence, along with refusing to submit to a chemical or physical test, stemming from a March 27 crash that resulted in his arrest. Both charges are classified as misdemeanors.
Authorities say the incident occurred when Woods was driving at a high rate of speed before colliding with another vehicle and overturning his SUV. According to police accounts, a pickup truck was entering a driveway when the collision happened.
Responding officers reportedly observed signs that Woods was impaired at the scene. During the arrest, law enforcement also recovered two pills identified as hydrocodone from his pocket.
Woods declined to undergo further testing to determine his level of impairment, which led to the additional charge.
