Cam Skattebo isn’t apologizing for having a good time, even if it happened in the middle of Madison Square Garden during John Cena’s final WWE Monday Night Raw appearance.

The New York Giants running back, who suffered a gruesome, season-ending injury in Week 8, has been sidelined for weeks as he rehabs and navigates the toughest stretch of his young NFL career.

However, on Monday night (November 17), the rookie took a break from recovery to attend RAW with teammate Abdul Carter, sitting ringside for the Judgment Day segment that also featured comedian Andrew Schulz.

During a heated exchange between Dominik Mysterio and Schulz, Skattebo found himself drawn into the action. The running back locked eyes with a member of Mysterio’s entourage before giving him a hard shove to the ground, sparking a quick, controlled skirmish that delighted the crowd and promptly went viral.

But as clips circulated across social media, so did criticism from fans questioning why an injured rookie would get physically involved in a wrestling bit. Many argued he was being reckless with his recovery; so Skattebo fired back with a thoughtful and direct message on X.

"Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on," he wrote. "I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy… Just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say."

Skattebo made it clear he’s simply trying to maintain his mental health and keep busy while unable to do the thing he loves most, play football.

Inside the Giants building, there’s reportedly no concern over the appearance. His involvement in the bit was tightly choreographed and posed no risk to his long-term recovery.
