Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is reportedly in critical condition following a shooting in New York City.

As of Sunday (Nov. 16) afternoon, Boyd was at Bellevue Hospital after being shot and wounded in Midtown in the early morning hours.

According to the New York Post, the NFL player was shot in the abdomen outside of the Sei Less restaurant after an altercation turned violent, leading to two shots being fired.

The shooter then fled the scene in a BMW X8 SUV. According to sources, a second vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz Maybach, also left the scene.

So far, there have been no arrests in the shooting, and it remains under investigation.

Though Boyd wasn’t initially identified as the victim, the Jets later confirmed his involvement in the shooting.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a Jets representative said.

Boyd signed a one-year deal with the Jets this past NFL offseason after spending two years with the Houston Texans. In August, he was placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury.
