Former NFL star Andre Rison is serving jail time after pleading guilty in a second-offense drunk driving case in Michigan.
According to court records, Rison was booked into the Oakland County Jail on Friday and is expected to be released Sunday after serving part of a five-day sentence handed down earlier this week.
The former wide receiver pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated in connection with an August 2025 incident in Troy, Michigan. As part of his sentence, Rison was also ordered to serve 18 months of probation and pay more than $2,300 in fines and court costs.
An additional charge alleging open intoxication in a motor vehicle was dismissed.
Rison initially posted a $5,000 bond while the case made its way through the courts. Neither he nor his attorney has publicly commented on the sentence.
Now 59 years old, Rison enjoyed one of the most productive careers of any wide receiver during the 1990s.
Nicknamed "Bad Moon," he played 12 seasons in the NFL and suited up for seven different franchises, including the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts.
Rison made five Pro Bowls during his career and recorded more than 10,000 receiving yards and 80 touchdown catches. His lone Super Bowl title came with the Packers during the 1996 season, when Green Bay defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI.
Off the field, Rison also became a fixture in pop culture because of his relationship with TLC star Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. Their turbulent romance famously made headlines in 1994 after Lopes set fire to Rison's Atlanta mansion, an incident that became one of the most talked-about celebrity stories of the decade.
In the years since retiring from football, Rison has occasionally appeared at NFL alumni events and has remained a popular figure among fans of the sport.
