Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested early Monday morning, January 12, in Tampa, Florida, following an incident at a casino.
Hillsborough County jail logs obtained by the Minnesota Star-Tribune show Addison was taken into custody at approximately 3:46 a.m. by the Seminole Indian Police Department at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
The 23-year-old was charged with first-degree misdemeanor trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance. Authorities have not released additional details surrounding what led to the arrest.
Addison later posted a $500 cash bond and was released that same afternoon.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell addressed the situation briefly during a previously scheduled news conference on Tuesday, January 13, saying he had only just been made aware of the arrest.
“I just learned about that very, very recently,” O’Connell said. “I don’t want to speculate on that in any way, shape or form. I do think we have to get as many facts and find out exactly what happened.”
While Addison has not spoken publicly, his agent, Tim Younger, shared a statement on social media indicating the receiver plans to challenge the arrest. “On Jordan’s behalf, his legal team has already initiated the investigation, identified witnesses, and we are reviewing the viability of a claim for false arrest,” the statement read. “He looks forward to the legal process and upon full investigation, we are confident Mr. Addison will be exonerated.”
The arrest marks the latest off-field issue for Addison, who was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of USC.
Earlier this season, he was briefly benched during the team’s October 5 win over the Cleveland Browns in London after missing a team walkthrough. He also served a three-game suspension at the start of the 2025 season for a 2024 DUI arrest.
Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was asked this week how Addison’s off-field history could factor into upcoming roster decisions, including the team’s options at wide receiver heading into free agency and the future of Addison’s contract.
“Jordan is unique because 99 percent of the days Jordan Addison is a Viking he is a joy to be around,” Adofo-Mensah said. “He is incredibly intelligent, confident, responsible… Obviously, that’s something we have to consider.”
