In the spot, the podcaster and sports reporter had an aversion to the word "swiftly."

Kayla Nicole was careful not to mention her ex-boyfriend Travis Kelce being in a relationship with Taylor Swift in a commercial tied to the Super Bowl.

In a spot for fantasy football app Sleeper starring Tiffany Haddish and NBA player Ben Simmons, the team are founders of the aptly titled fictional law firm Simmons & Haddish. The duo offer to take on clients’ exes, with Offset and Love Island’s Ace Greene also making cameos, with subliminal nods to their high-profile splits from exes Cardi B and Chelley Bissainthe, respectively.

Later in the commercial, Nicole explains that the Haddish/Simmons team promised her that they’d “quickly” put an end to the “ex-girlfriend fiasco” she’s been going through, a clear reference to her breakup with Kelce. The former couple dated on and off from 2017 to 2022, and the following year, Kelce began dating Swift. The couple got engaged last August.

After Simmons interjects, Nicole goes through a list of other adverbs like “rapidly” and “pronto” before the Los Angeles Clippers player clarifies that he said “swiftly.”

“Why is that so hard to remember?” Simmons continues.

“Ah, that’s on me. I came at him wrong. I thought he was Black. My bad,” the Girls Trip actress replies.

“To your credit, Tiff, we as a community have to be better gatekeepers of the taper fade,” Simmons cracks, a dig at Kelce’s past hairstyle.

Last month, Nicole joined R&B singer Toni Braxton for a performance of “He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me,” in Los Angeles, California, months after she replicated the song’s music video in an Instagram reel last Halloween. The choice of song appeared to be a shot at Kelce and Swift, who some believe shaded Nicole on her 2025 song “Opalite.”
