Karl-Anthony Towns ended 2025 by proposing to Jordyn Woods and recalled the special moment on the latest episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Around the two-minute mark of the interview below, Meyers said the engagement was the best thing that happened to Towns on Christmas Day, with the second best being the Knicks defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-124.
The star athlete couldn't help but agree.
"I don't know if they're cheering for me or for her. I feel like everyone's a bigger fan of her," Towns joked about the crowd's reaction.
The NBA star added that the proposal was a surprise after he and Woods had been dating for five and a half years.
"I know in Hollywood, that doesn't last long," Towns joked. "We found a way ... Five and a half years. Ebbs and flows of a relationship as anyone would know. And I think the most important thing—and we had this conversation the other day—is that we always chose each other."
Towns added that he and the entrepreneur stick with each other through "the bad and the good," which makes for a "strong bond."
"And I wanted her to have a ring that shows that bond and relationship that we've built. And yeah, I want everyone to know she's mine," he added.
The athlete went on to share that Woods was "ecstatic" about the engagement ring and said that her mother, Elizabeth Woods, approved.
"That was the most important thing," Towns said.
In a TikTok about the engagement, Woods called it the "perfect way to end the year."
Elsewhere in the interview, Towns reflected on Critics Choice Award-winning actor Timothée Chalamet FaceTiming him after the Knicks won the NBA Cup, calling the entertainer his "brother."
