Mase is weighing in on Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer for 2026.
“I think it's pretty cool that he's doing it. I could think of two people that I would have liked to see do [the] Super Bowl as well. Probably Nicki Minaj — I think she's way overdue to be a halftime performer, as well as Drake should be one,” Mase said at around the 57:55 minute mark on Tuesday’s episode of It Is What It Is.
“I think that would have been perfect, after already just having Kendrick [Lamar], to let him come back and see if [Drake] could top that,” Murda Mase added.
While Cam’ron said he agreed with Mase “from an entertainment standpoint,” Cam also alluded to Minaj's dissing of Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation helps present the show, when Lil Wayne was overlooked for this year’s performance.
“I think that's where we evolve, though, because as a good businessman, sometimes you got to do what's right for the brand, even though it's not what you personally feel,” Mase explained. “If you're still ruling things through your emotions, you're really not as strong as you say you are. It's time for Nicki Minaj to be a halftime performer.”
On Monday, it was revealed that Bad Bunny would be the next Super Bowl Halftime Show performer on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced the news on Sunday during the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys game
Jay-Z issued a statement on choosing Bad Bunny to perform.
"What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring," he said. "We are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage."
Bad Bunny also shared his excitement in his own statement: "What I'm feeling goes beyond myself," he said. "It's for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
This year, Kendrick Lamar performed at the Super Bowl in New Orleans on the heels of a massive beef with Drake and the arrival of his album, GNX. Many had a problem with Lamar performing in Lil Wayne’s hometown, including Minaj, who appeared to take shots at Hov last September for the choice.
