Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna’s Met Gala after-party was so exclusive that some New York Knicks players weren’t even permitted entry.
According to TMZ, late Monday night (May 4), several unnamed Knicks players tried to get into the event at Zero Bond after their playoff win over the Philadelphia 76ers, but were turned away.
Sabrina and Madonna’s party apparently had an extremely tight guest list totaling 200 people, even though the venue could hold almost double that. It seems that a number of other celebrities also weren’t allowed inside, with the two singers wanting to keep the party "intentionally intimate."
The soirée started at 1 a.m. and went until 4 a.m. on the fifth floor of the venue. The guest list included: Katy Perry, Margot Robbie, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Serena Williams, Orlando Bloom, Adrien Brody, and Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.
Insiders told the outlet that the entire block around Zero Bash was closed and monitored by security. It was reported that the Knicks players went to The Box instead.
The New York team was in a celebratory mood after the game, particularly since it was a blowout, with the Knicks winning 137-98 in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs. According to TMZ, this is the first time in NBA history that a team has won three consecutive playoff games by 25 points or more.
Last month, Sabrina Carpenter surprised fans during her second Coachella performance by bringing out Madonna. Carpenter joined Madonna in performing some of her memorable hits, including "Vogue," "Bring Your Love" and "Like a Prayer."
During a sentimental portion of the set, Madonna thanked the Man’s Best Friendvocalist for inviting her to perform alongside her. "You can have whatever you want," Carpenter replied. "Clothes off my back."
