Instead of attending this year’s Met Gala, Timothée Chalamet has chosen to sit courtside for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Callie Holtermann of the New York Times published an article on Monday (May 4) highlighting the difficult decision that Chalamet faced tonight.
After Chamalet attended two Knicks home games in the previous round against the Atlanta Hawks, the safe bet was on him going to tonight’s game.
However, the actor was accompanied by his girlfriend Kylie Jenner for the second game, which left open the possibility of Chamalet joining her at the Met Gala.
Jenner still attended the gala, however, with bleached eyebrows and a nude illusion Schiaparelli gown reportedly containing thousands of pearls.
As Holtermann mentioned, Chamalet also skipped the 2025 Met Gala in favor of watching the Knicks defeat the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on an iPad with a few friends.
When asked about last year’s decision on 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, Chalamet joked that he “had to be locked in, man.”
The Oscar-nominated actor admitted the Knicks’ playoff run last season as “the most fun period of my life.”
Another famous diehard Knicks fan, Ben Stiller, opted for the Met Gala. Stiller and wife Christine Taylor repped the team’s colors with his orange tie and her blue dress.
