Just days before kickoff at Super Bowl LX, Stefon Diggs is facing renewed legal scrutiny after being named in a civil lawsuit that alleges defamation and involvement in an assault tied to a dispute over a stolen luxury vehicle.

According to TMZ, the filing, submitted Tuesday, February 3, in Miami-Dade County, places an off-field spotlight on the New England Patriots wide receiver at one of the most high-profile moments of the NFL calendar.

According to the complaint, a man who says he previously worked with Diggs claims the receiver falsely accused him of stealing a Ferrari in 2024.

The plaintiff alleges that Diggs asked him to coordinate the transport of the vehicle from Miami to New York and then to Houston, where it was later reported stolen.

Law enforcement ultimately determined the car was taken by a third party, the lawsuit claims, but Diggs allegedly continued to tell others that the plaintiff was responsible.

Beyond defamation, the suit includes claims of civil conspiracy, vicarious liability, and aiding and abetting assault and battery. The plaintiff points to a December 2025 incident at a Miami nightclub, where he alleges individuals connected to Diggs assaulted him, resulting in significant injuries.

Court records cited in the filing describe torn knee ligaments and facial damage. Diggs’ brothers, Trevon Diggs and Darez Diggs, are also named as defendants.

The lawsuit further alleges a pattern of escalating confrontations, including unwanted visits and messages from people associated with Diggs. One text message cited in the filing reportedly reads that Diggs was “responsible and accountable for all actions of those around me,” which the plaintiff argues demonstrates awareness of the situation.

The man is seeking damages estimated to exceed $100,000. As of this writing, the claims have not been adjudicated, and Diggs has not made any public comment.

The filing comes amid Diggs’ recent legal action. In October 2025, Diggs sued social media personality Christopher Blake Griffith, accusing him of defamation over what Diggs described as fabricated claims of sexual assault and an alleged plot to have Griffith killed.

In that lawsuit, Diggs denied any misconduct and alleged the influencer knowingly spread false statements to gain online attention, tagging the NFL, the Patriots, and Diggs’ brand partners.

Griffith’s attorney previously countered that his client was the victim of “unwanted sexual advances,” a claim Diggs disputes. That case remains ongoing.
