Odell Beckham Jr. Officially Reunites with the New York Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. is officially heading back to where his NFL career began.

According to CBS Sports, the veteran wide receiver has signed a contract with the New York Giants, completing a reunion that seemed increasingly likely after multiple workouts with the team this offseason. The deal comes just months after Beckham publicly expressed interest in returning to the franchise that drafted him and weeks after reports surfaced that he had undergone a physical with the organization.

The signing marks a full-circle moment for Beckham, whose name became synonymous with the Giants during one of the most electrifying starts to a career in recent NFL history. Selected 12th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU, Beckham immediately emerged as one of football’s biggest stars, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and becoming a three-time Pro Bowler during his first five seasons in New York.

His return also reunites him with head coach John Harbaugh, who coached Beckham during his stint with the Baltimore Ravens. That connection appeared to play a significant role in keeping the door open. Earlier this year, Harbaugh acknowledged that the two had remained in regular contact.

“He and I do talk. We do text,” Harbaugh said during the NFL league meetings. “We maintain a really great relationship. He’s one of my favorite people in the world.”

The move comes after Beckham spent much of the offseason making it clear that a Giants return was at the top of his wish list. During the Fanatics Flag Football Classic earlier this year, he responded enthusiastically when asked about the possibility of catching passes from young Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.

“If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that,” Beckham said.

The road back to East Rutherford has been anything but straightforward. Since being traded by the Giants following the 2018 season, Beckham has bounced between Cleveland, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Miami.

Injuries repeatedly interrupted his momentum, most notably the torn ACL suffered during Super Bowl LVI while helping the Rams win a championship.

After a brief run with the Dolphins in 2024, Beckham spent the entire 2025 season out of the league and served a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

The circumstances surrounding this return are also very different from Beckham’s first chapter in New York. He is no longer being brought in as the face of the franchise. That role belongs to emerging stars like Malik Nabers and second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Instead, Beckham joins a crowded receiving room as an experienced veteran who understands both the market's demands and the organization's expectations.

Still, Beckham's history with the Giants remains unmatched by any stop in his career. He recorded 5,476 receiving yards, 44 touchdowns, and three Pro Bowl appearances during his first stint with the franchise, numbers he never replicated elsewhere.

Now, after years of injuries, trades, and uncertainty, Odell Beckham Jr. has officially found his way back home.
