Deion Sanders has heard the criticism surrounding his family and his sons’ football careers. His response? He isn’t losing sleep over any of it.
In a recent Well Off Media video, the Colorado head coach addressed the constant attention surrounding the Sanders family while highlighting a milestone for his son, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders. For Deion, the accomplishments within his family outweigh any criticism circulating online.
"All the scrutiny, the hate, and the drama that surrounds the Sanders family, we don't care," Sanders said. "I'm so proud of my kids."
The comments arrive after months of public discussion surrounding multiple members of the Sanders family, including Shedeur and Shilo Sanders’ football careers, Deion’s Colorado tenure, and his increasingly public relationship with actress Karrueche Tran.
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders faced intense scrutiny throughout his rookie season despite becoming one of the NFL's most marketable young stars.
Shilo Sanders has also generated headlines as he continues pursuing his professional football career.
Rather than focusing on the criticism, Sanders pointed to what he sees as the bigger picture. During the same remarks, he revealed that Shedeur had set a new NFL business benchmark.
"I just had a kid who made the most money in the history of the NFL in sales," Sanders said. "That won't even include jerseys. Y'all don't know that. That was another deal."
According to NFL Players Association licensing records, Shedeur Sanders generated more than $17.7 million in NFLPA group licensing revenue during his rookie season, surpassing the previous single-season record reportedly held by Tom Brady. The figure covers revenue from products such as trading cards, video games, jerseys, and other licensed merchandise, though Deion suggested additional deals existed outside that structure.
The elder Sanders' comments also come as his relationship with Tran continues to draw attention. The couple first became publicly linked during Sanders' battle with bladder cancer, when Tran was seen supporting him through surgeries and recovery.
Tran has previously pushed back against suggestions that the relationship is motivated by publicity, saying she remains with Sanders because she is genuinely happy.
Sanders has echoed that sentiment in past interviews, praising Tran's "honesty of heart and soul" and crediting her for helping him through one of the most difficult periods of his life.
