One unsuspecting UPS truck found itself at the center of a citywide celebration Wednesday night as Knicks fans poured into the streets after Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Videos circulating on social media showed ecstatic fans spilled onto the streets of the Upper West Side while chanting "UPS!" at the delivery truck after the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in a dramatic, 29-point comeback finish.
Celebrities in the audience included the likes of Taylor Swift, ASAP Rocky, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, and more. Wu-Tang Clan were also on site to perform the halftime show.
Iman Shumpert, who was set to make an appearance on the ESPN podcast Brian Windhorst & the Hoop Collective, instead celebrated with fans on 7th Avenue in downtown Manhattan.
According to ABC 7 New York, 56 people were arrested outside of the Madison Square Garden security perimeter on Wednesday night.
"This is an exciting time for the Knicks and for fans across New York City. The NYPD wants New Yorkers to be able to enjoy these celebrations, but our primary responsibility is to ensure that everyone can do so safely," said the NYPD in a statement shared with the news station. "Once again, there were large crowds of people who engaged in incredibly reckless and dangerous behavior last night both during and after the game. This demonstrates exactly why the NYPD has increased our presence in and around Madison Square Garden."
Game 5 of the NBA Finals will take place on Saturday (June 13) at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will take place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
