Nike is releasing two new Mercurial football cleats ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.
Just moments ago, the Swoosh unveiled its latest Mercurial Vapor 17 and Mercurial Superfly 17 cleats and confirmed both styles are dropping in June. According to Nike, each version has a distinct purpose for the pitch, with the Vapor designed to provide “unreal quickness in tight spaces” and Superfly made for “breakaway speed that builds and holds in open space.”
The Mercurial Vapor 17 is Nike’s lightest Mercurial cleat to date, featuring an Atomknit construction on the upper paired with a thin FlyLite plate atop the cleat.
The Mercurial Superfly 11 is designed with responsiveness in mind, as it’s equipped with an external Zoom Air unit at the forefoot. The upper features a FlyWeave Ultra construction that delivers containment without sacrificing natural movements.
“In football, speed isn’t a stat, it’s separation,” James Molyneux, Nike’s senior director of football footwear innovation, said. “The modern game asks players to be fast in different ways. That’s why Mercurial is now two tools, each built to help athletes create space when it matters most.”
The Nike Mercurial Vapor 17 and Superfly 11 releases on June 1 at Nike.com before launching in-store at select retailers on June 4. Grab a closer look at both cleats below.
