Nike is planning to release a new colorway of the Kobe 3 Protro for Christmas this year, as evidenced by these images.
The updated Protro version of the late Kobe Bryant's third Nike signature shoe will come in an icy makeup inspired by the festive holiday. A majority of the upper has a blue and white color scheme with translucent panels appearing at the midfoot. There's also a frosty graphic that covers the toe box and on the heel counter, while an iridescent Swoosh is stamped at the heel. Completing the look is a blue-tinted translucent outsole underneath.
Thus far, Nike has released the Kobe 3 Protro in the all-white "Halo" colorway to celebrate Bryant's birthday on Aug. 23.
Despite images of the "Christmas" Kobe 3 Protro surfacing, release details for the style have not yet been announced by Nike. Check back soon for new developments in the coming months.
UPDATE (12/11): Nike has confirmed that the "Christmas" Kobe 3 Protro will release on Dec. 24 via SNKRS for $210. In the product description, the brand says this Protro version has an updated upper and tongue, providing additional comfort and breathability. This version also has a Cushlon foam midsole with a full-length Air Zoom strobel unit and updated traction on the outsole. The sneaker will also drop in big kids' sizing for $132.
