Nike is reportedly giving the Kobe 3 sneaker the Protro treatment for the first time ever next year. According to trusted sneaker leakers Sneaker Files and @zSneakerheadz on Instagram, the late Kobe Bryant's third signature shoe will release in fall 2025 in an all-white "Halo" colorway.
There are no leaked images of the purported Nike Kobe 3 Protro "Halo" at the time of writing; the shoe above is a mock-up rendering of what's expected to hit stores next year.
Like past "Halo" releases, the shoe dons a white-based makeup celebrating Bryant every year on his birthday (Aug. 23). It's also worth mentioning that the upcoming Kobe 3 will reportedly feature updated cushioning, with full-length Zoom Strobel instead of the heel and forefoot Zoom units in the original pair.
Thus far, we've gotten "Halo" releases for the Kobe 8 in 2023 and two versions of the Kobe 9 earlier this fall.
UPDATE (08/13): Nike has officially confirmed the release of the "Halo" Kobe 3, while also unveiling the upgrades on the latest Protro model. The upper still retains its net-shaped upper featured in the original version, but now has mesh underlays for added airflow and lockdown. The tooling has also been overhauled and is now equipped with a full-length Zoom Strobel unit instead of the smaller Zoom Air units in the original version, an updated Cushlon 3.0 midsole, and a new diamond-shaped pattern on the outsole. The "Halo" Nike Kobe 3 Protro will be released on Aug. 23 via SNKRS and at select retailers.
