The first trailer for Vought Rising has been shared by Amazon Prime Video, giving audiences a look at the new The Boys spin-off — watch it below.
Set decades before the recently wrapped series, Vought Rising sees Jensen Ackles return as the snarky, foul-mouthed superhero Soldier Boy, this time in a 1950s-era story about how Vought International became the superhero company it is in The Boys. Aya Cash co-stars as the extremely racist Stormfront.
In the trailer, Ackles' Soldier Boy and Cash's Stormfront are thrown into some violent superhero shenanigans that involve bulletproof super-powered people, creepy cows, and forced Compound V injections.
Rounding out the cast are Mason Dye as Air Force-themed superhero Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel. The Boys Season 5, which topped Prime Video's streaming charts, laid the groundwork for the spin-off by revealing that Soldier Boy once had feelings for Clara.
Announced in 2024, Vought Rising marks Prime Video's second attempt at expanding The Boys universe after Gen V was canceled. It is positioned as the first entry in a broader slate of planned spin-offs from the streamer.
Vought Rising's trailer comes after the season finale of The Boys divided fans who either loved the original ending from the comics or had something wilder in mind for the show’s main cast.
While showrunner Eric Kripke has largely kept quiet about fan reactions to the show, he did respond to Elon Musk, who called the show "pathetic."
Kripke responded to Musk’s post on X with an excited reply. "OMG, this is his review of what @TheBoysTV did to Homelander; I’ll never get a better review ever," he wrote.
Kripke previously expressed his frustration with Musk's former pal, President Donald Trump, for erecting a golden statue that made a joke on The Boys not funny anymore.
