A new, unconfirmed report suggests that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be much longer than the Battle of Gods arc it’s named after.
The Dragon Ball Super: Beerus series is a brand new, expanded remake of the 2013 film, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. Previously announced earlier this year, the belief was that the series would offer a new, expanded take on Goku and Vegeta’s battle with the God of Destruction, Beerus.
A report from a self-proclaimed “Dragon Ball Reporter” who goes by Venixys on social media alleges that the upcoming anime will go through other arcs of the TV anime as well, with episodes currently set to go through at least the popular Universe 6 arc.
The report says that the DBZ heroes’ battle with Beerus will span six episodes, then jump into the Resurrection F arc over five or six episodes. After that, it’ll supposedly get into the Universe 6 arc with seven or eight episodes. This entire schedule has yet to be confirmed by Toei Animation.
Venixys’ report aligns with a recent tease from Dragon Ball Super star Masako Nozawa, who suggested Goku’s battle with Frieza would appear in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus—indicating the anime could continue beyond the Battle of Gods arc.
At a major event celebrating Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary earlier this month, Dragon Ball executive producer said that the reason for the anime’s remake is to highlight Akira Toriyama’s work with better precision and accuracy.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will feature improved art quality, re-rendering of all cuts, and a fully reconstructed story.
In other Dragon Ball news, the video game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 has been announced to come out in 2027. The last game in the series, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, came out in 2016.
