Chet Hanks is making it clear that “all the thick women” who work for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are excluded from his overall disdain for the federal agency.
Like anyone who’s ever had the grave misfortune of being forced to directly interact with TSA higher-ups, the Running Point actor had a particularly frustrating experience during a recent trip, leading to him loosely quoting Morgan Wallen’s post-SNL walkoff missive before hinting at what went wrong.
“Shout out to all the thick women that work at TSA. This ain't directed towards y’all,” Hanks said when specifying the target of his ire. “But TSA management, you can't tell me you don't enjoy the slow-ass pace you go [through] these bags when they get flagged. How tf you only have one person working at a snail’s pace who just disappears periodically for no fuckin’ reason? It's like you enjoy it [‘cause] you know there ain't shit we can do about it. Y’all really got us fucked up. Shit makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!”
This isn’t the first instance of travel woes impacting Chet, whose father, Tom Hanks, was spotted in the crowd for his son’s Something Out West performance at Stagecoach in April. Earlier this year, he documented his predicament of being “literally stuck” in Colombia due to a passport issue, leading to a very good metafictional comedy pitch from yours truly.
Meanwhile, Running Point—also starring Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon, who leads the fictional (but Lakers-inspired) Los Angeles Waves—was confirmed to be getting a third season last month. Hudson and Hanks are joined in the cast of the Netflix comedy by Brenda Song, Justin Theroux, Toby Sandeman, and more.
