Before Meghan Markle was given the title of Duchess of Sussex, she was a dedicated actress starring in several movies and TV shows. Her major breakout role was on the long-running TV series Suits, in which she played Rachel Zane for seven seasons.
For the past several years, Markle’s number one priority has centered on family life with Prince Harry and their children, as well as her royal duties. Most recently, fans have seen Markle starring on Netflix’s 2025 cooking show, With Love, Meghan, which was met with poor ratings from viewers and critics alike. (It currently sits at a 23% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 26% audience score.)
Since the Netflix series struggled to maintain viewership and favorable reviews, many fans of Markle have been wondering what her next venture might be. Since the Duchess of Sussex has been vocal about wanting to return to the acting world for several years now, fans were excited to learn that she’d be returning to acting with her first film role since 2015.
What Has Meghan Markle’s Co-Star Jack Quaid Said About Working with Her?
Markle’s upcoming movie, Close Personal Friends, was shot in 2025 and has a star-studded ensemble cast. The leads of the film include Lily Collins, Brie Larson, and Jack Quaid. When Quaid was recently asked by Entertainment Tonight about his experience getting to work with the former Suits star, he was quick to call it “insane.”
“It was insane,” he said, before going on to praise the rest of the ensemble in the upcoming movie. “The main cast of it is myself, Brie Larson, Henry Golding, and Lily Collins, which is just an incredible group of people to be a part of.”
