Natalie Nunn has shared that her polarizing appearance on Cam Newton's Funky Friday podcast wasn't about answering questions — it was about flipping the script.

According to Nunn, she immediately recognized the podcast's tone and chose not to use a traditional interview format. Instead, she said she leaned into exaggerated confidence and sarcasm to avoid being "played in her face."
"They will try you in these podcasts, and that's the new thing nowadays," she said. "Used to be radio interviews and all those things. They will try you. They will play in your face. They will ask you manipulative, sarcastic, underlying questions. They will do all of that. Baby, let me tell you, I read the room, understood it right from the beginning, and played that game right back."
She continued, "[I] amplified it on 10, ate that man up, interviewed him, spit him out, took his hat, and walked up out that bitch and actually had fun."
She explained that her responses were intentional, saying she answered in ways she knew would make Newton uncomfortable, particularly when discussions turned toward relationships, money, and how men view successful women.
"When he said stuff about, so why should a man take a baddie serious? Like, I already knew, so I said the things that I knew a man like him doesn't want to hear when a woman makes her own money," said Nunn.
The reality star also admitted she genuinely believed Newton had won a Super Bowl ring, a misunderstanding she laughed off afterward, and said much of her on-screen behavior was intentionally playful rather than confrontational.
Despite the mixed reactions online, Nunn said she walked away from the experience entertained and unbothered, framing the appearance as a reminder for women in entertainment to stay alert during modern podcast interviews.
