Labrinth, the Emmy-winning composer of Euphoria, has again addressed his departure from the HBO drama.
With the third and final season of the television series set to premiere this weekend, the singer-songwriter and producer took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday morning (April 11) to call out those who "comfortably lie in this industry and still call themselves honest people."
Although Labrinth didn't specify who the message was geared toward, speculation arose that it was about Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the producer denied knowing why Labrinith exited the project. "He’s an incredible collaborator and someone who really built the foundation of the sound of Euphoria," Levinson said.
In his post, Labrinth wrote that he "decided to remove" his music from Euphoria season three after being the show's main composer for the previous two seasons.
"I spoke to HBO and as far as I know we are cool," he continued. "I left because, last truth, when I work for someone, [their] vision is paramount to me but I don’t let people treat me like shit."
Weeks prior, Labrinith posted two separate messages about his disdain for industry "snakes," as well as slamming Euphoria.
"I’m done with this industry," Labrinth wrote on Instagram. "Fuck Columbia. Double fuck Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and goodnight."
Euphoria has reportedly been the subject of a fair amount of behind-the-scenes drama since its season two finale back in 2022, which coincided with Levinson juggling his work on the show with the poorly received former HBO series The Idol.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed Euphoria lead Zendaya was growing "frustrated" with the slow progress of the show’s third season.
Barbie Ferreira also exited the show due to creative differences with Levinson while Storm Reid left because of scheduling conflicts. Within the past several years, actors Angus Cloud and Eric Dane have died, although the latter will appear posthumously in Euphoria season three.
Two-time Oscar winner Hans Zimmer now serves as main composer of Euphoria, which was announced last July.
