Jennifer Lopez is wants the world to know that she may not be who you think she is.
The actress and singer, who stars in new Netflix rom-com Office Romance, discussed the misperception of her personality in a joint interview with The New York Times along with her co-star, Brett Goldstein. Lopez’s character in Office Romance, airline company CEO and president Jackie Cruz, is deemed tough as nails, which journalist Ashley Spencer asked if the public considers that to be Lopez’s “default” personality in real life.
“It makes you crazy because you’re like, can you just relax? I’m fine. I don’t bite — until I know you better,” Lopez replied.
“But I don’t bite, and I don’t yell, and I’m not an unkind person,” she continued.
Lopez added that because she’s often misperceived, she’s unfairly viewed as a “two-dimensional character.”
Goldstein also shut down the speculation, calling Lopez “brilliant” and a “nice person,” and recalled that they were “laughing” during their first Zoom meeting, which made the filming process “easy.”
In January, an interaction between Lopez and GlamBOT operator Cole Walliser went viral after that pop vocalist kept the conversation brief before posing for pictures at the 2026 Golden Globes. Walliser would later clarify in an Instagram reel that he didn’t take the experience “personally” and that Lopez didn’t seem “rude in that moment.” “She was down to business. The carpet was closed. She was ready to go inside. She knew exactly what she was going to do,” he explained.
Catch Lopez and Goldstein in Office Romance, which is currently the number one film on Netflix.
