Daniel Kaluuya will swing back into the story of Spider-Punk a.k.a. Hobie Brown in an upcoming animated film about the character.

Two years after being voice of the character in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, according to Deadline, the Oscar winner has been attached to co-write a Spider-Punk project along with screenwriter Ajon Singh.

While the synopsis hasn't been revealed, Spider-Punk will focus on the titular character, who resides on Earth-138 and was introduced in 2015 comic book The Amazing Spider-Man #10.

Created by legendary Marvel writer Dan Slott and illustrator Olivier Coipel, Spider-Punk is a multiverse version of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, who has a rebellious and anarchistic perspective in comparison to the original Spidey.

Kaluuya will reprise the character in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, currently scheduled to release on June 25, 2027. While Kaluuya will next have acting roles in Chris Rock-directed A24 drama Misty Green and action-thriller The Upper World, he'll soon make his directorial debut in a live-action film based on the former PBS children's show Barney & Friends.

Emmy-winning actress Ayo Edebiri pitched the film to Kaluuya and is in talks to star.

"I was just thinking of, what are the movies that I want to make? What are the things that I want to do? What are the things that make me excited?" she told the Wall Street Journal earlier this year. "So I just had this idea, and then we started building it out together. And then it becomes what it’s going to be, which I don’t want to say too much about."
