Tom Holland teased a bold new look for Spider-Man in a first look at the newest film in the series, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
On August 2, the actor shared a video on Instagram debuting his new look. He was seen in the distance, walking closer to the camera until his torso was visible.
Then, he asked the camera, “Are you ready?” In the clip’s final moments, the movie’s title was displayed.
An accompanying caption revealed the film’s release date, July 31, 2026. In a separate post, the actor shared two photos from filming where he was in the suit.
The difference in Holland’s Spider-Man suit was noted by E! News. The website revealed that the spider logo on the actor’s chest was larger than in his three previous films, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Holland stars in the film alongside his fiancée, Zendaya. She’s reprising her franchise role as MJ Watson.
Their romance began after being cast alongside each other in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. One year later, the actress told Variety, "We are friends," she said. "He's a great dude. He's literally one of my best friends. This past how many months, we had to do press tours together? There are very few people who will understand what that's like at 20 years old."
In 2019, the couple shared their first on-screen kiss, but still hadn’t confirmed they were dating. The moment occurred in a scene from Spider-Man: Far From Home.
During an appearance on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty Podcast, Holland revealed that he keeps his relationship with the actress “sacred.” He said, “I don’t walk about it.”
“I try my best to keep it as private as possible. We both feel very strongly that is the healthiest way to move on as a couple.”
Holland and Zendaya became engaged in January 2025. They have not yet set a date for their wedding.
