Brian Austin Green has spoken out on the persistence of his ex-wife, Megan Fox, specifically in relation to her wanting to date him after they first met.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, who was married to Fox from 2010 to 2021, reflected on his early relationship with the Transformers actor on the Wednesday (January 14) episode of Deon Cole's podcast Funny Knowing You.

Around the 15-minute mark of the video below, Green explained that he had broken up with actor Vanessa Marcil, the mother of his oldest child, when he filmed an episode of former sitcom Hope & Faith, which Fox starred in.

"Megan was 17 at the time and I was like, 'Nope, not a chance.' And she just fucking relentlessly pursued me," Green said. "And at the point when she was 18, she was like, 'I'm moving back to Los Angeles. The show's done.' And I was like, 'Oh boy, here we go. Here it is.'"

Because Green had experienced a "really hard relationship" with Marcil, the actor said Fox was a "breath of fresh air."

"She was like fun and laughing all the time and easygoing. And I was like, 'Man, this is exactly what I need at this point in my life.' I had no intention of it being a serious relationship, but I've always been like a serial monogamist," Green continued. "I love being in relationships. I love it. I hate being single."

The actor added that although he "wasn't completely in it" with Fox, he ultimately decided to go steady after she proposed they begin dating other people to find something "real."

Elsewhere, Green explained that being with a younger woman will "exhaust" him now, being with Fox felt right at the time. The ex-spouses share three sons, and since 2020, Green has been in a relationship with his current fiancée, Sharna Burgess. Fox last dated artist MGK, with whom she shares an infant daughter.

"I came out of a relationship where I was with someone that was older than me and it was it got serious really quick," Green said. She got pregnant, my son was born...It was just this really tumultuous relationship and still is to this day... we're like mortal enemies."

In a previous interview on podcast Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Green said that he and Fox have a "great" co-parenting relationship.
