Tichina Arnold is getting candid about a chapter of her dating life that helped shape how she views relationships today.

During a recent appearance on the Funny Knowing You podcast, the veteran actress revealed that her first—and only—experience dating a white man ultimately clarified what she wants and doesn’t want in a partner.

While talking with host Deon Cole, Arnold shared that she once dated Brian Austin Green, best known for his role on Beverly Hills, 90210. Looking back, Arnold described the relationship as positive, but not lasting.

“It was nice,” Arnold said, explaining that the experience felt different from what she was used to.

Still, she ultimately decided to walk away because she believed the relationship was headed in the wrong direction. According to Arnold, she felt confident that Green would eventually settle down with someone who looked like him.

“You’re gonna share your riches and your legacy with someone white,” she recalled telling him. “And so I’m getting off this train.”

Arnold made it clear that her decision wasn’t rooted in bitterness or resentment. She emphasized that Green was kind and that the relationship served a purpose in her life. “I think in life I had to experience that so I know what the other side is,” she said, adding that it simply wasn’t for her.

The actress also spoke openly about attraction, explaining that she’s drawn to Black men on a deeply instinctual level. “I really love Black men,” Arnold said. “I’m just attracted to Black men…the pheromones, the smell, everything. The everything!”

Arnold has built a career spanning decades, with memorable roles including Pam on Martin and Rochelle on Everybody Hates Chris. She most recently starred as Tina Butler on CBS’ The Neighborhood.

Outside of her career, Arnold has been married twice—first to boxer Lamon Brewster and later to basketball coach Rico Hines. She shares a daughter, Alijah Kai Haggins, with music producer Carvin Haggins.
