Kacy Hill no longer resonates with her "90210" collaboration with Travis Scott.
As Scott's debut album, Rodeo, turns ten in September, on Friday (April 4), the former G.O.O.D. Music artist replied to a fan on TikTok that requested a "90210" follow-up. But Hill, who left Ye's label in 2019 and has a garden, has moved on from the song.
"It has been ten years since that song," she said in the first TikTok below. "And I, quite literally, wake up every day and look outside to see how my sprouts have grown and bake scones and write guitar songs. So I think I'm pretty far away from that at this point."
"Does he owe me a vocal swap? Sure. That will never happen, and I don't really want it to at this point, at this juncture," she continued, addressing Scott.
"That ship has sailed and I think we can let it go. It's safe to let it go now," she told fans of La Flame, asking them to take their comments "elsewhere." And the comments were offensive, with people writing, "trav made you lil bro" and "Humble yourself."
Hill returned with another TikTok when someone wrote, "he literally made you," claiming that the remarks have been inescapable for years. "I've always been grateful to be a part of that song. I think it's an awesome song," she said. "It was just a really kooky, like, crazy time in my life. I was really young and thrown into the deep end of the music industry and, I think, didn't really know who I was as an artist yet and therefore couldn't convey that to a label or anything else."
Hill called it a "tough time" and "hard," adding, "I just don't really relate much to that time in my life anymore." But while musically figuring herself out for the last eight years, Hill claims that she's been antagonized by Scott fans online.
"I just think it's really wild, and I've sort of tried every tactic to get rid of the comments. I've muted so many words and I've tried to address things like this in really neutral, hopefully simple ideas, but I think we're in a time in the world where trolling is such a thing."
Hill called the trolling her "only resentment" towards "90210," not directed at Scott or the song itself. "The shit that comes with being an artist in the internet age, I think fans and everyone else feel they have unlimited access to say whatever they want to you."
"I have no bad blood for anyone, but I do have bad blood for this stuff," she added while pointing at a comment bubble.
Along with her new TikToks, long before, Hill addressed that she owns a "small portion of publishing" for "90210" and shared that she's been able to sustain herself without commercial singles in the years since. The singer has occasionally made fun of Scott's Ragers by trolling them back.
