Upon entering the New Year, Andy Cohen aired out his discontentment with former New York City mayor Eric Adams.
The Watch What Happens Live host apparently hated being witness to Adams' single four-year term, which he expressed after the ball dropped during CNN's New Year’s Eve 2025. As seen in the clip below, Cohen was joined by news anchor Anderson Cooper and actor-comedian B.J. Novak when he ranted about Adams, who was succeeded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
While holding a shot glass, Cohen went off about "watching the final moments of Mayor Adams’ chaotic, horrible" term, as Cooper and Novak jokingly tried to calm him down.
"I mean, he got his pardons," Cohen continued. "I’m just saying, great. You got your pardons. Go off into the sunset. We’ll fiddle with what we have, with what you’ve left us with."
Novak went on to joke that Cohen has a "thing" against mayors, and name-dropped former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who Cohen previously crashed out on during NYE 2022.
Cohen continued to say his piece about Adams by calling out his pardons and club-going habits. "I just want to say, goodbye, Mayor Adams, you did it, you did it, you did it, didn’t you?" Cohen concluded.
Earlier on New Year's Eve, Cohen assured his X followers that tequila would be his drink of the evening, and followed the festivities with an Instagram post about the night being a "wild ride."
"Thanks to my pal @andersoncooper for having me back, and for having my back always," Cohen captioned the post, which showed him and Cooper in a friendly embrace. "We had a ball and yes I’d venture to say we were a tad overserved (by me)."
With Adams reaching the curtain call of his time as mayor, the politician still wants New York City to have a 24-hour nightlife district, which he explained to Ziwe in an interview last November.
