Bunnie Xo is setting the record straight about what comes next with Jelly Roll after reports surfaced of the latter filing for divorce.
On the June 18 episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, titled "The Divorce," Bunnie confirmed that she and the country rapper are moving forward with their plan to have a child together, even as their marriage officially comes to an end.
"We're going to co-parent together. J is my best friend. Like, this isn't what you guys think this is. Nobody cheated on the other person. It's literally just we served our purpose for each other," she said on the episode.
The podcast dropped the same day Bunnie said she had spoken with Jelly Roll for two hours before recording, and that he was aware the episode was coming.
Bunnie, 46, revealed the couple had been through an emotionally grueling fertility journey, losing four embryos across three IVF transfers, including a set of twins they had planned to carry via surrogate. "I've never talked about this, but J and I have lost four embryos. We've had three transfers, but we lost the two twins that we were gonna try to have," she said. She also disclosed that Jelly Roll had a low sperm count and underwent hormone treatment as part of the process.
The toll of those losses, she said, had worn her down over the past year and a half, leaving her feeling like "a shell of the person I was" and describing the journey as having "wrecked" her "emotionally, spiritually, physically."
"My hat goes off to any woman, family, couple who is going through IVF because let me tell you something, dude. That is one of the loneliest, darkest journeys you will be on," she said.
Bunnie said the former couple remain committed to becoming parents. "J has been so fuckiing great about us still having a baby together and he wants the same thing," she said. She referred to their future child as "little Nugget" and described their vision as raising the baby as "one big happy family."
"There will never be another 'Jelly and Bunnie.' What we built together as a team, the reason we are who we are is because of our love story. It's literally built on love. It's ending with love, and we're continuing the love because we're having our little nugget together," she said.
Per their divorce settlement, Bunnie will move into the couple's compound, where she plans to raise the child. She said the two wrapped the settlement in roughly two to three weeks. Jelly Roll, 41, filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, citing irreconcilable differences and listing May 9 as the date of separation. The filing was first reported on June 15.
Bunnie said she had told Jelly Roll on Mother's Day to "file the f---ing divorce papers," then packed a bag and left, with the two not speaking for weeks before h filed the paperwork.
Jelly Roll's 18-year-old daughter Bailee Ann responded to the broader public attention on TikTok, saying: "I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter."
