Zayn Malik recently appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, and the pair revealed they went to a tattoo parlor together to get ink that was inspired by the other person. Barrymore got her new ink on her inner wrist and Malik’s is located on his forearm.
“I started studying what your name means and one of the words that it means is ‘grace,’” Barrymore said to the singer, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. “It’s one of the tattoos I’ve always wanted because it’s the thing I’ve got to start giving myself in a different way.”
She continued, “Putting your name on my body in the form of grace, I think, is going to change my life for the better. It’s something I really need."
Malik got Barrymore’s name written in Arabic. “I’m so honored! like, I’m so excited. I’m so honored,” Barrymore said when speaking about the ink. “I’m very grateful because I hope that—if and when you ever look at it—we can both just step back and maybe believe in the fact that we’re trying so hard and giving so much. And where and when is it acceptable and necessary to put ourselves in the mix of all the priorities and care and all of that.”
The pre-recorded segment with Malik was aired less than a week after the singer announced he was hospitalized. "To my fans—Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always—been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering," Malik posted to his Instagram Stories on April 17. "Heartbroken that I can't see you all this week, I wouldn't be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding."
Malik’s new album, Konnakol, is available now. He is going on tour starting on May 12.
