Alissa Violet, a popular YouTuber known for her makeup tutorials and candid lifestyle content, has been arrested after an argument with her boyfriend, Ryan Pownall.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred at the end of February, after a night out drinking at a local bar. When the couple went back to Pownall’s Hollywood apartment, they got into a heated argument while heavily intoxicated. It was allegedly about his phone.
Violet reportedly left her boyfriend’s apartment, then returned sometime later that evening and the fight continued. When neighbors made a noise complaint, the cops were called to the residence.
TMZ reported, “Law enforcement sources tell us ... Alissa was ultimately arrested for making criminal threats ... though they did not detail the nature of the threats. Sources familiar with the incident told TMZ that Alissa may have had a knife in her hand -- which would explain why she was arrested, but Alissa's team has not confirmed or denied this allegation.”
The pair, who were dating for nine months, allegedly broke up after the incident.
Violet initially rose to fame through Vine, where she posted six-second videos to her 600k followers. She was one of the founding members of Team 10, an influencer-based social media management company created by Jake Paul, who she eventually dated.
Violet transitioned to YouTube in 2016 with a vlog talking about the Team 10 house, a mansion in California where the group would all live and create content. However, Violet left Team 10 in 2017 after Paul allegedly threw her out of the house for cheating. Since then, she has continued to make her own viral content. Her channel currently has 3.4 million subscribers.
Pownall has a million followers on his Instagram and TikTok pages. He hosts a podcast on OFTV, a platform launched on OnlyFans, where he interviews adult film stars.
